YOU ARE HIS

"But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel ‘Fear not, for I have redeemed you. I have called you by your name, You are Mine.’” (Isaiah 43:1, NKJV)

These words, spoken by God through the prophet Isaiah, came as reassurance to Israel while the nation was going through a devastating period of captivity and oppression. The nation had lost its hope. The once powerful, triumphant nation of Israel was now captives in a foreign land. The people began to question their own self worth. God in turn, steps in and reminds them of who they are, who named them and who they belong to. God was telling them, in essence, “He is their creator and Father, and they were His children. They belonged to Him and He would protect them.”

This is God's word for you today. Though you may be suffering, though you may be struggling, God wants you to know, you are His. You belong to Him. He is both your God and your Father. And as I like to say, "God is not a deadbeat dad." He is and He will take care of you.

Remind yourself today, "I belong to God." Declare it over your life, "God is my Father, my protector and my comforter." Know that God will not allow you to be destroyed by any enemy. YOU ARE HIS.
